My Story

My journey with Bronx River Bagels started when I was 12 after a trip to Montreal. I saw how traditional Montreal bagels were made—boiled in honey water and baked in wood-fired ovens—and I fell in love with the process. When I got back home to New York, I was determined to learn how to make them myself. I spent hours in the kitchen testing recipes, practicing, and combining Montreal techniques with classic New York style until I created a bagel I was really proud of.

Soon, I started selling my fresh bagels to people all over the Westchester area. What began as a fun kitchen experiment turned into a real small business as more and more neighbors placed orders. After a year of baking, I made $1,500 and I decided to donate all of the money to Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship to support a great cause and give back to the community that supported me.
